When new POES satellites are launched, you don't need to get new MADIS software -- just put the number of the desired satellite in your provider selection.
Due to a failed AMSU-A instrument, MADIS doesn't carry data from NOAA-17. Also, METOP-A is operated by the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT), which does not allow redistribution of their data to the general public. Therefore, MADIS doesn't carry data from METOP-A.
